You Can Maintain Your Site

The tools we use to build web sites are not terribly expensive, but they are only available on the Apple Macintosh™ computer platform. If you have a Mac, or good access to a Mac, it might be worth your while to purchase the software your site is designed in. We will provide you with the necessary site files (it is your site). We use the following software:

Sandvox, by Karelia Software, the newest, simplest design package on any platform. If your site fits its capabilities — and most do — we can teach you the fundamentals of the program in an hour or two. You will be able to use this program to make editorial changes to your pages and add new content. It is easy. Sandvox costs $49.

RapidWeaver, by RealMac Software, is capable of building an amazing variety of sites but hasf a moderate learning curve. We will only use RapidWeaver if your site requirements demand it. While more difficult than Sandvox, it is vastly simpler than traditional web design products such as Dreamweaver or GoLive. A day's training will suffice to get your going. RapidWeaver and necessary third-party plug-ins will run you about $100.
